Given that the digital sphere doubly celebrates archives (because it digitizes them and makes them accessible to all, and because it ceaselessly creates more of them), the boundary is fraught between a hyper- and an anti-memory, the exhaustive conservation of traces paradoxically confines us to oblivion by relieving us definitively of the responsibility of remembering – that is, when we do not demand a “right to forget”.
